Laurie B. Fox Ph.D. received her B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley (1996) and her Ph.D. from the University of Southern California in Developmental Psychology (2002).

During her time at USC, she was the chief research assistant running an interdisciplinary reading disability study in collaboration with the psychology, linguistics, and computer science departments, testing theories for the development of different subtypes of dyslexia in elementary school students in the Long Beach Unified School District.

Following graduation, Dr. Fox received post-graduate training conducting educational, attentional, and psychological assessments in private practice in Los Angeles. In 2004, she opened up her own practice specializing in psychological assessment for the dual diagnosis population in substance abuse treatment centers including Visions Adolescent Treatment Center and The Canyon Treatment Center.

Her hobbies include playing tennis and spending time with her husband and two teenage daughters.
